The Crisis of Credit
Many people have been trying to understand what is happening to the economy. And while some have an idea and assumptions about what happened and what will happen, I didn’t. After searching online for something that explains what truly happened, I came across The Crisis of Credit video, a thesis project by Jonathan Davis for his design degree, which is an exciting visual interpretation of the credit crunch.

HELP! the lebanese movie that ironically needs help
HELP! a new lebanese movie directed by Mark Abi Rached, was due to open to weeks back, yet never did. After a highly acclaimed avant premiere, the state’s censorship department retracted the licence. Below you can find a detailed synopsis of the movie, which somehow relates to drugs, prostitution and homosexuality among other stories. 28 minutes of the 87 minute movie has to be cut before the licence can be given back. Interest was piqued by the fact that lead actress and who appears nude in the movie, is the daughter of a Lebanese MP.
A psychological-social drama, “Help” tells a story of choice and destiny in a Lebanese context, bringing together the lives of a prostitute, a juvenile delinquent, a wealthy businessman, and a cab driver, among others. The film also tackles homosexuality and prostitution by presenting actors in a realistic light intended to reveal the basic humanity behind these issues.

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE wins big at the Oscars
It ended up getting 8 oscars in total, including Best Picture, Directing, Music Song, Music Score, Film Editing, Sound mixing, Cinematography, and Writing (adapted screenplay). I think this is more than what Danny Boyle ever imagined, yet it really deserved it.
Sean Penn went home with Best Actor (MILK), while Kate Winslet got Best Actress (The Reader). Late Heath Ledger won for his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight.

Angels & Demons: The Movie
One of the movies I am waiting for this year is Angels & Demons.
I just hope that the movie lives up to the book. I read the book years ago and I must say it was one of the most thrilling books to read, maybe because I have already been interested in reading about the secret “Illuminati”. What I really liked about the book is that all of the locations they refer to actually exist. Here is an article about the filming crew actually shooting on location at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) where a part of the story takes place. On a side note, the internet was invented at CERN.
From Apple Trailers:
When Langdon discovers evidence of the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati – the most powerful underground organization in history – he also faces a deadly threat to the existence of the secret organization’s most despised enemy: the Catholic Church. When Langdon learns that the clock is ticking on an unstoppable Illuminati time bomb, he jets to Rome, where he joins forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and enigmatic Italian scientist. Embarking on a nonstop, action-packed hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and even to the heart of the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra will follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that mark the Vatican’s only hope for survival.
